Resident 8mo ago. Good schools and a lot of activities for the kids and the family. Friendly and helpful neighbors and a safe community. Resident 11mo ago. Very neighborly and kid friendly. I would reccomend this neighborhood to any family. Resident 1y ago. Owners are friendly, take care of their dogs and pick up after them. Shops and markets are very close, 5 min drive. I feel safe walking my pet through the neighborhood. Especially with the area being well lit at night and the police station nearby.
A great school system. A place you would want to raise your family". Nice and quiet in some areas. Local farmers market and many stores neighboring this town. Quiet and you'll have privacy depending on where you live. During rush hour, it takes about an hour. Busses run regularly, hourly in off-peak times. The town does have shuttles to the train station.

West Orange also has an ice skating rink! The schools do a fantastic job and amazing people live here. People in our neighborhood are very friendly and welcoming. Nice playground within walking distance. People here are generally too busy to socialize with each other. The only drawbacks are the wildlife. Fox, raccoons, deer and an occasional coyote. It makes me a little nervous at night knowing that they are there. The local trains are irregular at best. People are always looking to help one another and have positive intentions.
Very little to no traffic within the neighborhood on a daily basis. Families and NYC commuters. Well established homes and tree lined streets. Pretty much an hour door to door on the train. But it is safe. A plus A negative No sidewalks which means children have to walk and wait in the street for school buses; a major concern.
In my opinion, schools are overcrowded and declining so many opt for private schools. Very nice and friendly. Quiet and safe area to live in with children and family. Super close to transportation. Great for commuters. Less than 10 minutes from Montclair's downtown as well. Neighbors are friendly". It has a beautiful lake to walk around or go fishing in.
